What are my rights as a consumer when I’ve paid for 15 montths of a service, used 12 and want to discontinue?

danielans6 asked:

I’ve practiced Kunk Fu at a School for the past year. I’m not interested in continuing. I signed a contract saying that if I need to discontinue, they’ll reimburse. The contract doesn’t specify how much or a time-frame of paying back. Is the amount pro-rated by law? Thanks for your time and expertise. Daniel, Berkeley, Ca.

Ask them, they may give you a partial refund. Look at the fine print in your contract as there is often a pro-rata refund for cancellations.
