Needing legit. advice about my rights as a car consumer?

flutterbyekisses21 asked:

on 11/4 I purchased a vehichle from a used car dealer. I used my prior vehichle as a trade in and was given enough trade allowance to provide a decent down payment. The sales person and I had to fed ex contracts back and forth for various reasons, and by the time we did the final contract(1/5/2007), I abruptly lost my job(1/9) .Now the company that had the the financing will not go through with the loan. Now the lady is telling me that I not only have to return the vehichle, but shes also telling me that I must pay the “negitive equity” from the trade that was supposed to be my down payment. If they gave me xx,xxx.xx$ for my truck, &x,xxx.xx went to pay off the existing loan for that truck, the $x,xxx.xx remaining should be returned to me if they cant put in me in a new vehicle, Correct? Im feeling a little pushed around and would like to get some idea of whats up before I head to the family law office.
I should add that although I was fired, I was blessed enough to turn around and join another company right away. The car dealers response to this: ” You havent been on the job long enough, and WE cant let this sit untill you get verifiable proof of income”…let it be known that i was on my prior job for 6 years, so it isn’t as though I have an unproven track record in my career that would cause them to balk at financing.

Hudz (St Georges Centre, Preston) breaking the UK Consumer Law?

Al-Andalus JCαt ⓛⓞ♡ⓔ❀ asked:

We bought two pairs of Jeans from this Asian-owned Menswear store in St Georges Centre, Preston, last Saturday, and on getting one home found that one pair had a clear fault on the legs: bleached spots where the dye had not taken into the fabric/ or where some damage had occurred at the factory presumably thus rendering these bleached spots. On returning to the shop asking for a refund for this one item, on the basis it was faulty, we were refused and told we could only exchange them. I have since found out that we were well within our rights, within UK consumer law, asking for a refund (as told to us by a nice lady at Consumer Direct [ http://www.oft.gov.uk/ ]. Thus: we got conned on returning yesterday as the assistant said we could only have an exchange and we didn’t know the law and thus walked away with the alternative pair.

Should we go back to the store and tell them they were in effect breaking the law when they refused a refund under the Sales of Goods Act (as told to us by Consumer Direct) and should we still demand a refund. We are not happy that these guys in effect conned us. What should we do? Any advice gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance.

who enforces consumer rights? please help?

stacey o asked:

I have a question about consumers rights i live in ireland and bought a dress as a xmas present for my friend it was in a sale and cost ten euro, when i got it home i noticed a stain on the dress and brought it back to the shop with the tags on and the receipt i spoke to both the manager and owner and they refused to exchange it saying it was only ten euro and i could have worn the dress or stained it myself, i know my rights and by law they have to refund replace or repair faulty goods but they wouldn’t do it? who can i get to enforce this law so they cant get away with doing this to other people , its not about the money anymore the owner was rude and tried to embarrassed so i would want to change the dress i told him what my rights were and he told me to take him to court!!,,,surly shops like this cant just get away with this? how do i go about enforcing my rights without having to take them to the small claims court for a dress that cost ten euro!!!!

ive already rang consumers rights and all they could do was tell me to write a letter of complaint to the company but ive already spoken to the owner who refused me an exchange!

thanks for the help!

What are my rights as a consumer when I’ve paid for 15 montths of a service, used 12 and want to discontinue?

danielans6 asked:

I’ve practiced Kunk Fu at a School for the past year. I’m not interested in continuing. I signed a contract saying that if I need to discontinue, they’ll reimburse. The contract doesn’t specify how much or a time-frame of paying back. Is the amount pro-rated by law? Thanks for your time and expertise. Daniel, Berkeley, Ca.

Is there a “consumer right” to an owners manual (US)?

imapirateaarr asked:

Odd question, but is there an actual right as a consumer to receive an owners manual (computer). Is there any link that proves this (such as a BBB link or something)?

If there is, does the law or rule stipulate in which manner the manual must be delivered (is online/downloadable “legal”)
